How to set a custom URL for your Facebook profile page

If you've not done some tweaking to your Facebook account, you'll realise that if you visit your profile page you can see that list of numbers after the /. It should look like this before and after you tweak the settings.

How your Facebook profile URL looks like before you tweak some settings
How your Facebook profile URL looks like after you tweak some settings(No more random string of numbers)
These 'tweaking' do make a difference. They make it more 'neat' and makes your profile easier to find if you do a Google search. Before starting you'll have to know that the new url is based on your username. If you've noticed, you log in via your email address and password. With the tweaks you're about to do,
you can also log in via your username.

Once you've created a username, you'll immediately have a URL based on your username. If my user name were to be blahblahblah(no offense Kesha), my Facebook profile page's URL will be www.facebook.com/blahblahblah(again, this isn't Kesha's page). To get your custom URL, all you have to do is to log in to your Facebook account, and:
1. Go to Account(top right corner) and click Account Settings.
Click on Account

Click on Account Settings
2. On a section called Username, there should be an option change in blue. Click on that, and you'll see a few recommended usernames(you don't have to follow them) and an option called more in blue. Once you've done that, there should be a white box with grey text saying Enter your desired username. Type in your desired username and click Check Availability. You'll most likely get prompted informing you that you can only change your username once. Go ahead and click Confirm.

Example of what it should look like
Voila. You've got yourself your very own custom URL. Since you got yourself your new username, you can log in with that username instead of your long, complicated email address. Any problems? No problem, post a comment below or send me an email regarding your problem, and I'll try my very best to help you.
